nah, i dun believe in tat
i enjoy the excitement and anticipation as i approach the bookshelves tat hold my yishu books
and the joy in discovering a title i haben read….hehe
nah, i dun believe in tat
i enjoy the excitement and anticipation as i approach the bookshelves tat hold my yishu books
and the joy in discovering a title i haben read….hehe
and i didn’t noe esplanade got library
juz signed up for email reminder service. mi & YY always kena fined…amt quite substantial coz we usually borrow 8 books at one shot
decided to surf the nlb website and saw some new titles “not on loan” at bedok and pasir ris library.
omg! i can’t wait to fly there tml and borrow the books!
but the library opens so late…wat to do??
marie was telling mi abt her auditions for the storyteller job at bookworm club yest. didn’t expect the competition to b so stiff. i mean, i can’t believe so many ppl wana tell stories on stage to children.
i was a bookworm club member throughout my pri skool days as i used to subscribe to the bookworm mag.
decided to visit their website and goodness, it looks so passe
i juz read tis on parents center and it sounds cool.
The Fast Food Rule because you’re basically operating like a drive-through cashier:
You repeat back the order, then name the price.
Use short phrases with lots of repetition, gestures, and emotion to show your child that you get what’s going on in his head.
sigh! my fav show of the moment has ended
i like the ending except tat haitang die-ed
the tvbcity synopsis is so precise! even to the point of when the baby will cry!
hope the next show is juz as good, if not better
YY and i realised tat it’s juz nice tat the show ended tis wk coz we bz next wk

Dear Livia,
Here is your Work Horoscope
for Wednesday, August 29:
You’re swimming through a murky patch at work today. It’s hard to know what to prioritize. Should you avoid predators and wait for clearer waters? Or should you take advantage of the shadows and do some hunting yourself?
i didn’t realise tat the coffeeshop near my place sells good crabs till tracy mentions her all crabs feast here.
had dinner there on sun and tried the highly recommended crab beehoon. tink tis is at the most the 2nd time i tried tis. didn’t expect the bee hoon to haf soaked in the flavour of the crabs and be so tasty
the fish steamboat looks great too muz try tat next time
tis is my conclusion after my last session
the therapist is so good tat the extraction didn’t hurt….compared to the previous session when i was in tears, tis was heavenly
and i luv the new masks for eye and face
marie been commenting my eyes look puffy tis wk
but mi sleeping well leh…mayb becoz i drink more h2o coz i coming dwn wif sore throat
zouk sg still serves the best LIT
we r indeed beli goal orientated and focused solely on our motive
perhaps tat comes wif old age….haha
tat’s the name of the sandwich YY created.
it means double Bread, Cheese and Peanut butter & grape jam

and i saw him wolf dwn tis sandwich on sun….i juz find it eeks but little boys haf strange taste
time to get presents ready
the joys of a mother
i slept earli tonite (by my standards) and woke up at 4am
i dun usualli wake up in the middle of the nite but mayb it’s due to the nap i had wif QQ
reali slept too much tis wkend liao and getting hungry at tis hr
time to hit the sack and catch some sleep before the day begins
1st win of the season
many more to come
though she eats MOST stuff
and is perpetually hungry
her fav food of the moment is ‘pizza’
i duno y since we haben been eating pizza for a while
mayb it’s the pizza hut pamplets tat she saw
of the things she learnt from skool
she learnt to ask for fried rice and macaronic soup
which she eats in skool
there was an accident on the PIE towards changi airport before tampines exit.
it caused a huge tailback of traffic all the way to enuos. i heard the traffic alert on radio and vernetta lopez was urging ppl to avoid the stretch of rd.
i played xtra attention to tis piece of news as i was going onto to PIE but in the opposite direction.
imagine my surprise when i saw the noticeboard on the PIE flashing “heavy traffic to kallang” before tampines/simei.
i got worried and contemplated to exit the PIE and take the normal roads instead.
luckily i didn’t as the notice was wrong! i maintained 80 to 90 km on lane 1 all the way to kallang bahru exit.
it’s bad enuff tat the notices abt accidents r usually not timely enuff and the accident vehicles r cleared and traffic back to normal.
but to get the message totally wrong (was it meant for the opposite direction of the PIE??) is unforgivable!
i would rather LTA not bother wif any noticeboards den to feed motorists wif wrong information! i reli wonder how the appraisals for these ppl r done. isn’t the accuracy of the PUBLIC messages they post critical to their performance??
we heard the sounds of the hose and water as the cleaner approaches our flat to wash the corridor.
we all rushed to get our shoes off the ground and onto the shoe racks.
QQ joined in the ‘fun’ and hurried to keep first her own slippers den YY’s.
mum and shupin teased her y she didn’t help to keep theirs or even kerri’s.
YY likes to ask QQ who she likes most. and her ans is always ‘mummy and u’
i m appalled by tis article “Abe praises Indians who backed Japan in WWII”
granted tat each side of the war will regard themselves differently, it is clear tat japan was the offensive side in WWII.
the atrocities commited by the japanese troops in Asia are facts tat go dwn in history and remind us tat humanity and war do not co-exist. fortunarely, there r ppl ard us who live to tell of stories of babies being thrown into the air.
i believe tat most japs r civilised and will not act in the same barbaric way as the troops had under normal circumstances but the truth of the matter is war is cruel.
but tis posting is not abt war crimes.
i m juz surprised at the pro WWII act by abe. thank ur allies (pardon the pun) by all means but at least show remorse for the war and the fact tat many died as a result. not juz in the countries tat japan invaded but oso their own ppl. the atomic bombing is regretable yet if it had helped to end the war sooner, it would haf served its purpose.
and yes, i do tink the ppl who fought against the invading japanese troops are war heroes.
the cute error msg from WP:
Goshdarnit!
Something has gone wrong with our servers. It’s probably Matt’s fault.
i read an article tdy abt tis magazine called ‘Pink’ which created a list to recognize Fortune 500 companies that are breaking the mold when it comes to promoting women.
Stats show tat 15.6 percent of corporate officer titles and 6.7 percent of top-earning jobs are being held by women. Companies found unique in their efforts to promote and develop women employees are highlighted
There is a set of criteria for making the ranking by focusing on the “Four P’s”:
Power — The number of female top executives a company has.
Pipeline — The availability of retention and training programs geared towards helping company women develop and achieve their career goals.
Pay — The number of women who are top earners, as well as the practice of pay equity between male and female employees.
People — The opportunities for company women to balance work and life.
mi decided to start listening to accuradio at work again.
got james blunt leh! but i didn’t hear ‘u’re beautiful’ at all tdy.
the story goes tat the ONLY restaurant at our hotel in desaru has tis great compilation of songs. onli prob is they kept playing the same CD and we eat bfast/lunch/dinner at the same place for 3 days!
it got so bad tat we knew the order of the songs and we actualli suggested in the feedback form tat they change their CD
hehe….saw the msg from marie…bb is sending mi the correct signals so i reli got the gender rite.
i couldn’t ‘feel’ anything initialli and didn’t wana make any guess. i onli noe how to tell from shape of tummy and it’s too earli to tell marie’s
abt a wk later, i told her i had a strong feeling abt bb’s gender.
tink my maternal instinct picking up the rite vibes from bb. well, bb sits besides mi 9 hrs a day! we bond building everyday! haha
had tat at teatime tdy.
first time i tried it and the water chestnut bits were so crunchy and sweet.
dessert stalls have been popping up in the heartlands. so many stalls at bedok interchange fc nw. i luv the white fungus and oso the barley wif beancurd skin.
eating desserts is nourishing and good for health and satisfies my sweet tooth.
tabao-ed back the blanco court fish soup tonite.
i usualli eat it wif beehoon but i got juz the fried fish soup tis time.
so heavenly wif rice! i luv the fried egg and milk in the soup.
i can eat tis everyday, but the q at lunchtime is so scary!
luckily keypoint oso sells good fish soup. i usualli haf it wif maggie mee.
heard tis abt an ex-colleague
unbelievable but i did tat during lunch tdy.
finally managed to get the elastic hairband i wanted for home. onli 80 cents a piece.
and got a pair of pretty hairclips wif tiny crystals tat i absolutely luv…onli $1.90 for a pair, wat a steal!
and managed to get 4 chains (necklaces) from the handicrafts shop. onli $2 a piece and buy one get one free.
looks like silver but of course not lah, at tis price. and i luv the design of the chains coz similar to some of my silver bracelets.
ah! the wonders of retail therapy!
i m a bargain hunter and i get great satisfaction from finding good buys.
haha…looking at neko’s profile page reminds mi of california fitness.
i parked at orchard building and walked past cali on sat. kim is oredi a member and told mi NOT to go in for the openhouse or they’ll definitely pester mi to join.
and i didn’t know ppl call the ppl on the machines ‘hamsters’….haha
so apt! reli looks like hamsters on their wheels, running hard
剧情白日化了!真正精彩!
i m impressed by how detailed the episodic synopsis from tvbcity is.
the synopsis from mediacorp is miserable compared to tvb. tvbcity offers detailed synopsis online tat is similar to wat u get in the tv mags
if i dun like the show, i wun bother to read the synopsis. so y worry abt ppl reading the synopsis?
i read liao, all the more muz watch.
haitang die-ed liao, so sad. but at least i get to see yidao in all the remaining episodes. 王晶 is still great!
to yishu’s new book of course, so tempted to finish it tonite
not tat her theory is new. but reli enjoy reading and agreeing wif her theories.
故事讲演员和爱情。 故事从失恋和拍戏开始。 女主角有狗儿为伴, 又有假期疗伤。
我觉得故事会有好结局, 因为女主角是聪明人, 也已经慢慢复原。 time heals all wounds
人生本来就如戏。
多情往往空遗恨。
first time i got so many raves abt my haircut
but tat means i need to go back KL for my haircut
and it’s so much cheaper den SG. tink we payed abt MYR24 for wash and cut
plus it’s at shoppers’ paradise sungei wang. i can oso go to my fav shop at times sq.
KL! here i come!
picked up 2 sports from desaru, ping-pong and darts
first time i hold the bat and i enjoyed the game immensely. of course, the fact tat i played wif good players helped coz i could get away wif my lousy skills. i dun move ard much. i juz stay glued to a spot and hit balls tat come near a fixed radius ard mi. kim always let mi start so i practised the start ball a lot….hehe
and darts! wow! actualli got rules of play and so exciting once we knew the rules.
quite a competitive sport too. but my build means tat i haf probs wif the 20 points or rather the entire half of the dartboard above the bullseye
and there are multiple ways of play. can’t wait to practise both sports again!
tis is one symptom tat is enuff to sound the alarm bells for mi.
mi took the chinese medicine 下火王 2 times tdy liao. and my three legs cooling water. and oranges.
eeks! i hope i can stop watever ailment before it fully develops
心情有点低潮。。。
为何回报和辛劳不成比例?
有点没心情。 所以更要 work life balance, 否则怎么对得起自己?
job 还不是生命的全部。 还是尽量收拾心情,做份内的事。
haben been to chomp chomp for yrs now.
the last time i was supposed to mit sven there, i got utterly lost and gave up.
luckily tis time ard, i got beli clear instructions to get there from YP and i was lucky enuff to find the way back easily.
but the food was quite disappointing. i would haf thot there r a few more famous stalls. onli a couple were outstanding. as for the rest of the food offered, i can get the same if not better from 85 mkt.
mi like foie gras but didn’t know how cruel the breeding process of the geese is.
so inhumane. i will try to avoid eating foie gras from now on.
check out the no foie gras site
i actualli got the dates of my parking coupons wrong tdy.
i onli realised my mistake when i reached office and wrote the date in my notebook.
luckily my car still summons-less when i came dwn to make the amendments in dates.
so silly of mi !
was browsing and saw the news Asia’s first ever, women’s triathlon on youth.sg.
sounds cool !
once again, my magical crossed toes has worked!
and tis time, it’s all the way in hk tat benefited kim….haha
and mi juz making a metaphor, of course, who got so much time to keep toes crossed?? later my toes cramped how!
i juz mean tat i will wish beli beli hard for things to work out. mayb it’s the law of attraction at work??
mi showed marie the book excitedly when i spotted it at borders but her reaction was lukewarm. she felt tat it’s the same concept as any other self-inspiring books.
i guess it’s the video tat makes the law of attraction so easy to understand and appreciate.
and coincidentally, andy mentioned tis during our chat at PS cafe. he likes ‘the secret’ so much tat they held a debrief after watching the video.
i’m so glad i had the chance to watch the video so many mths ahead of it coming to sg.
lfi entered my life at the rite time when work didn’t fill the void in my life.
it’s such a good thing to happen to mi. i learnt so much unconsciously from ppl there. the lessons in presentation is not unlike wat i learnt from presentation classes for work and the mkting concept is the same as any sales approach. in fact, the skills were taught and applied even more thoroughly in lfi
the wkend feels kinda short and it feels like i haben been in the office for a long time.
the super typhoon sepat tat was predicted to reach taiwan on sat caused a bit of drama as my taiwanese teammate cut short her training and flew back a day earlier. otherwise, she could end up being stranded for the wkend while the airport remains closed in taiwan.
marie and i spent sat & sun wif kim. we went to oosh which has such a nice ambience. certainly a place i will visit again. quality of food is good, i love their pasta and pizza yet the prices are reasonable. oh, and i learnt tat PS cafe stands for Project Shop Cafe. mayb onli mi suaku.
kim oso managed to eat the pratas from jln kayu again. i didn’t expect such a crowd on sun morn. such a nice & local place to go for bfast
gosh! happened to see tis news on yahoo.
the Boeing 737-800 skidded on the tarmac after landing and started the fire.
nobody was hurt as all 165 passengers escaped using the emergency slides. i can’t imagine how panicky they muz haf been!
and the pilot jumped from the cockpit, isn’t tat pretty high??
oh, and china airlines is a taiwanese airline not mainland china.
was searching high & low for the lyrics to tis song 一人一半
so well written , the melody is so nice & soothing and the lyrics so touching!
i wana watch tis show! and buy the soundtrack and the dvd!
mi is going to write the lyrics out myself
since fri evening actuali.
quite shacked out from the work trip. the training was so intense. we covered so much during the 3 days.
the beach was nice and in the course of snapping picts, i managed to get myself very wet by a particularly big wave tat hit mi.
fotos will be out….reli soon
i noticed some similarities bet marie and HQ eg. carebear stare…haha
but i didn’t attribute tat to the fact tat they’re both sagitt
in the car, jessica, ivy and eric all announced tat they’re sagitt and i felt a little ‘no wonder lah’ coz ivy gets along so well wif mi too
some of the traits i notice in sagitt and key diff bet a sagitt and a gemini (mi onli using myself as benchmark)
directness
marie, HQ and ivy r all very candid and direct ppl.
very honest in giving feedback and opinions, makes great shopping pals.
moi : tends to try to b diplomatic
courage
all three of them r gutsy enuff to speak up and voice their opinions
moi : tis goes hand in hand wif being diplomatic. i dun especially fancy confrontations.
disciplined
how can ppl b so disciplined like these 3??
moi : mi is as fickle as can b and being a typical gemini, i luv poking my fingers into 10 pieces concurrently.
all 3 of us had so much work to wrap up, we stayed late in the office tonite.
i onli haf one song which is on repeat mode in the car as well.
turns out tat marie luvs the song too! yea! i can sing the duet wif her liao! hip hip hooray!
i onli realised i missed my fav show tonite after i got back….the good thing is, my 一刀 nbr appear in the next few episodes so no big loss.
i luv him in tis show…and 海棠。。。too bad it’s a sad ending for them.
mi oredi read the detailed episodic synopsis from tvbcity.
looking forward to the exciting ending.
mi & marie brought kim to chomp chomp tonite for dinner/supper.
wow! i actualli managed to find my way there and back quite easily tis time. the last time was such a failure…sigh…didn’t get there and didn’t mit him and got into such a rage.
but the food was disappointing. i tink can get better food at 85 mkt lor.
i tink mi onli been to tis place less den 5 times and doubt i will go again anytime soon.
i was quite appalled by one locally produced chinese kiddy show on sun morn.
the kiddos were supposed to b teen sleuths solving mysteries.
in tis particular episode, one girl was cheated of her gold necklace by a conwoman.
instead of advising her to go to the police, the kiddos and ‘professor’ decided to lure the conwoman out and trick her into returning the necklace.
while the show probably meant well and wants to teach children not to trust strangers and gif them their valuables, i wasn’t impressed by the way the case was handled.
the kiddos caught the conwoman outside a pawnshop and the case closed wif the conwoman returning the gold necklace.
y r we teaching our kiddos to take law into their own hands and letting criminals get away scot-free? what if the conwoman had accomplices? the cheating case could turn into a kidnap case. i totally disagree wif the way the case ended and i’m glad i watched it wif the kiddos coz i could teach YY the correct way to handle it is to make a police report in the first place.
i juz read a report tat says kids claim food in mac’s wrappers taste better though they were given the exact samples of food from mac but one set was not wrapped in mac’s wrappers.
wow! the power of branding!
i always tell ppl the first alphabet tat kiddos learn is M for MacDonalds and i’m not kidding!
it’s not juz the tv ads. it’s the whole concept of the store.
kiddos get free balloons while in the restaurant and they dun even need to queue. the staff will bring the balloons round to the tables for the kiddos. there juz ain’t many kiddos ard tat dun like balloons.
and the happy meals wif free toys nbr fails to make kiddos (and certain adults) happy. i recall having 3 happy meals a day when marie decided to collect the mac dolls set. and we made so many calls to all the mac branches in town to find the elusive dolls tat were out of stock.
thankfully, the menu is slightly healthier nw wif yogurt, apple juice and apple dippers.
though QQ still goes for fries. hoo can resist the fries??! i noe i can’t!
hmm….sounds like i need to use some kung-fu to get past tml. and it’s supposed to b a light day wif visting colleagues and a presentation to business leaders.
guess tat means i will haf lotsa of bits and pieces to wrap up for my clients tml.
Here is your Work Horoscope
for Tuesday, August 14:
Every once in awhile, details and errands creep up on your like muggers in a dark alley, and you’ve got to ninja-chop your way to freedom. Spin, whirl and jive your way through small tasks to get back to the fun ones.
i got QQ a crystal starfish last fri coz it looks so, so pretty i couldn’t resist.
toking abt necklaces reminds mi of the necklace tat QQ made mi for mum’s day.
it’s a piece of thick black yarn wif a few colourful pieces of yellow, blue and green straw tat have been cut into short pieces.
it’s a pretty kiddish piece of work and QQ didn’t present it to mi so i took wks to realise tat it’s meant for mi. it was lying ard on my comp table for wks!
one day, i picked it up and QQ said it’s for mi. oh, the realisation!
and the best part is when i wore it one wkend. QQ’s eyes lit up (she literally opened her eyes wide!) when she saw mi wearing the necklace she made.
i guess she didn’t tink tat i would wear it outside the house.
but girl, i’m proud of ur work! and i still haf the first mum’s day present from YY, a bracelet made wif colourful pieces of plastic.
tat’s another incentive of sending kiddos to skool, once they start skool, i get mum’s day presents…haha!
i struggled over whether to work at tis hr.
thankfully, my rationale won. work can wait till the light of day
isn’t it hard to believe how we are so tempted to put in those xtra hrs at work or into work at home? and it’s actualli a struggle NOT to log on or check an email. no wonder blackberries r turning into ‘crack’erries….qoute and unquote trace’s fren.
why is work addictive and not pleasure?
i mean, isn’t more fun and enjoyable to b spending time wif loved ones, doing things tat we enjoy, watching tv or juz relaxing?
yet y is it tat we can forego the things in life tat gifs us pleasure for work?
not tat we dun enjoy work at all and of course, work gifs us some degree of satisfaction and of course, monetary returns.
but sad is the man who depends on work to increase his self worth!
for it is not the xtra hrs of work we could haf done, but the time we could haf spent wif loved ones tat will haunt us on our death beds.
and if self worth is measured by the difference u make to the ppl around, all the more the difference should b felt by loved ones in having us being ‘present’ and sharing their joys and sorrows.
tis is one site i faithfully visit every wk. it’s refreshed every sun but sometimes i dun see it till middle of the wk. but i make it a point not to miss any wk before new secrets r up.
i juz feel the secrets r sometimes so powerful, they make u feel for the person who wrote the card. hopefully sending out their secrets relieved them of the weight of carrying a secret.
mi gonna b out of action for the later part of tis wk coz i’m at desaru for 3 days training.
in case i forget to put ‘on holidays’ msg yet again, tat’s y i m disappearing again.
tis is a short wk in office for mi….aug reli feels like it’s passing by so quickly!
and den it’s time for mi and kiddos to enjoy the sep hols. i m looking forward to tat beli excitedly.
before tat, YY gotta do his CA first…i suppose tat’s something bet a test and an exam?
we decided to haf dinner @ the airport tonite and check out the foodcourt tat we haben visited in yrs. mum rems tat dad brought her there the last time and i can’t even recall when was my last visit. for the kiddos, it was their first time eating there.
i rem the food as being tasty and cheap but i didn’t realise there is so much variety and so many stalls. much better den most foodcourts in shopping malls. plenty of seats and not much of a queue. onli the parking is slightly more exp.
but another incentive of eating there, not much to do after makan so i dun spend much on shopping. in fact, we headed back immediately after the meal
tat’s QQ’s new nick from mi
coz she was eating a fried wanton when she proclaimed tat it’s a tau sar piah.
only been days but whole family started calling her tau sar piah liao….hehe
i luv gifing the kiddos nicks
mum was toking abt her preserved ginger cubes from macau.
we saw a shop selling ginger slices in heartland mall and decided to get some.
not as good as the ginger cubes of course but wat to do, we have run out of stock.
and they haf sun-dried strawberries. basically it’s black and dry looking strawberries. YY tried and commented ‘it tastes like strawberry’
anyone going macau, pls let mi noe. i wana stock up on ginger cubes
mi been wearing red wif YY for past 3 days coz tat’s our national colours
i saw so many ppl in the streets wearing red tdy and i tink it’s so cool
though we may not seem like an extremely patriotic group, tis is a small gesture for us to celebrate our country’s 42nd birthday.
YY learnt some new songs in skool which i heard on tv.
i was happily singing a medley of Count On My Singapore and We Are Singapore the other day and YY looked so amazed coz he didn’t expect mi to noe these songs…wah lau ei, mi not tat old rite
i made YY’s day tdy by getting him the firered version.
the shop assistant brought out several versions and recommended rescue team which is newer but YY had his mind made up.
it was firered or nuthing
i dun allow him to bring his GBA out coz i hate kiddos who play non-stop and is oblivious to the surroundings. i told him i want him to b ‘present’ and b aware of wat is going on and where he’s going.
tdy i made an exception coz he wanted to test his firered on the way back.
he left his GBA in the car when we went for dinner and he was bugging mi to go back to the car the whole nite
and he told mi his happiest day was when he got his GBA….sigh! so my bro is rite after all. i depriving YY if i dun get him a GBA. i didn’t mind getting him a GBA. juz tat i was surprised when my bro told mi to. coz YY has nbr asked mi for a GBA.
i luv tis song. discovered it by accident when i listened to bro’s cds
so nice! i luv the tune, the lyrics and the singing…so unlike normal duets and ballads
feels like such a real life situation as if the story can b anyone u noe.

mayb it’s juz mi but i hate crocs.
they look and smell so rubbery!
i noe they’re supposed to b beli comfortable but i feel they’re extremely over-priced.
though the colours r vibrant, i tink the colours oso make them look ‘cheap’
so no, i haben got myself or the kiddos any crocs todate
QQ is getting more and more cheeky and her pet phrase now is ‘nadi nadi boo boo’ imagine her saying tis and shaking her butt
i wanted to video her saying tis for her to watch when she’s older
Moi : 我帮你录下来,你以后长大了可以看你小时候的样子
QQ 一脸正经地说 : 不是小时候! 是一点点大的时候
wah! she actualli dun consider herself to b little anymore!
mi didn’t haf dinner tonite coz i ate 2 bowls of dessert tat filled mi up
nw i m feeling the hunger pangs and missing my crabs.
ah bao, let’s do still rd crabs! and i muz find an opportunity to try the melben seafood. reli unlike mi to let my craving go unfulfilled for so long
mi juz read an article on parent center abt making children laff
how true it is! by joking wif the kiddos, it takes the tension out of squabbles and fights and all 3 of us end up roaring wif laughter
but it’s not juz for the kiddos, i get as much laff therapy out of them as well.
mi is a sucker for rose scent, it started wif the rose body bath from body shop…unfortunately, the line was discontinued so i can’t bear to use it all up….i usually onli refill my travel bottles wif tis. my fav scent nbr fills to brighten up my mood.
and i got the rose scent from topshop which i luv
but not every rose scent smells as good so i m quite fussy
i got tis rose body bath from watsons for 7.90 ringgit per 1000ml bottle and it smells great! gonna start using from tomolo
i was informed by ivy tat train svcs to pasir ris, bedok and tam was suspended.
we decided to head back by bus.
juz saw the news tat ah bao forwarded…omg! another train hit!
someone fell onto the tracks near tam mrt…and body is under the train.
having witnessed someone on the platform after being hit by the train…dun ask mi how it happened, i can totally relate to the feeling of dread everyone in the station and train muz haf felt
mi disappeared for a while coz i was in m’sia over the wkend and been “super wonder” (quote and unquote ivy) bz at work
i commented to dot tat in my 2 yrs wif the dept, i’ve nbr been so so bz…so biz is reli reli good.
well, working hard is one thing but it’s impt tat we r rewarded handsomely for our work too. so hope tis is a good yr for my pockets too. can’t b bz for nuthing rite?
celebrated trace’s bday at morton’s bar. they served steak sandwiches wif their martinis during happy hrs.
it was fairly crowded but we managed to get a table wifout booking when we got there.
post happy hrs, the bar was quite deserted but i like the ambience
trace brought us to a turkish restaurant at robertson quay. the food was very good.
i had roasted lamb leg and they sliced up the lamb into thin slices. very well done as the lamb was so tender and went well wif potatoes, peppers and some other vegs. excellent flavours.
was reading hock’s blog and realise tat being able to upload fotos and blog anytime i want is a blessing in itself and shouldn’t b taken for granted!
though i still admire hk ppl for their courage to speak up and stand up for wat they believe in, from all walks of life and from young to old. the protest over the demolishing of 皇后碼頭 is the most recent example tat comes to mind. got ah pek and ah ma joining the protest. and i recall kim telling the kiddos we were wif tat the parliment building is where ppl 示威游行. i can’t imagine tat being acceptable in SG! and tat explains y they dare to speak up from young. it’s the culture and upbringing.
and sg education is beginning to change so tat children learn to speak up more and express themselves better. imagine 7 yr olds going on stage for speech and drama! no way we could haf done tat at our age and some of us may still haf stage fright.
YY even haf show-and-tell in skool. wow! they are being taught presentation skills and can articulate themselves so well.
the kiddos were play acting and i eavesdropped on them
YY : “Teacher, now is play time. Can I go and play?”
QQ : “You want to play? Go there!”
den QQ starts to issue lotsa commands “Green group, go to play corner!” “Red group, go sit there!”
I asked QQ excitedly “so u r the teacher!”
YY answered “and i’m the model pupil !”
*faint* got such thing as model pupil in pri skool? anyway, i was tinking no amt of toys beats having real playmates.
YY used to haf so many toys tat he owns practically all the playsets in the mkt. and he still complains tat he has no one to play wif.
QQ on the contrary has very few toys…she doesn’t need new toys when YY has plenty to share wif her
most imptly, the amt of fun u haf is not related to the no. of toys u own

the head of S21 is being charged.
it will not bring back the dead but perhaps serving justice will bring some comfort to the families of those who perished in tis horrible act of genocide in such recent history.
the war ended in 1979, tat’s less den 30 yrs ago.
it’s hard to imagine tat wif all the talk abt humanity and so many superpowers in the world, such an act against humanity can be commited freely and over a period of 4 yrs.

And the final one — Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked
about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly
gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard,
climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,
“Nothing, I just helped him cry”
watever can tis mean?
Dear Livia,
Here is your Work Horoscope
for Wednesday, August 1:
Something creative bubbles up in your subconscious, and to best take advantage of it you need solitude. Find the space to get away from coworkers and seriously lay out the new idea and its ramifications, you innovator.
