from our intracellular and extracellular fluid readings can tell if our kidneys are overworked!
and the measurements of our limbs will tell u if there’s balance bet ur arms and legs tat u need to take note of.

everyone should take tis test and noe more abt ur health condition. will get my whole family to do tis test

Mi needs to lose 5.1kg nett from fats loss and muscle gain.

Gosh! seems like mi supposed to exercise and eat less.

sob sob! mi is pig leh. dun like to move…haha

Agency Seminar

24 07 2006

Last night marks the first Agency Seminar for Long Far International (LFI) which was held at DBS auditorium.

The night started off with recognition of distributors who have attained various positions after putting in commitment, time and hard work.

Many shared their stories with us and thanked their family, friends and all their business partners who have supported them to make their promotion possible.

Group picture of all the Regional Directors (RD) on the left.

Group CEO Mr Lee also officially announced Marcus Chin 陈建彬 as our local celebrity spokesperson.

陈建彬 shared with us his experience with taking 排毒美颜宝, Imu 6, S Factor Plus and Super ABOBA. He has lost some weight and will continue to work on that.

He also shared his thoughts on the trade, making comparison with being in employment, running a traditional business and network business.

Being in employment has little risk but it has limited returns too, typically low as you need to generate value, many times your salary, for your employer.
Running a traditional business has very high risk though the returns can be high.
Network business has little or rather NO risk yet potential for very high returns.

Chicken and pigeon story

Then he shared a story of a chicken that wanted to be a pigeon in order to see more of the world.
Moral of the story : Are you like the rest of the chickens who are resigned to fate?
Or will you be the chicken that has the courage to try and achieve its dream?

Another special guest of the night is 刘丹 or 丹爷 as we affectionately call him, who flew in from HK especially to attend our first agency seminar.

He was invited to say a few words on stage with 陈建彬 and the pair did an impressive and impromptu talk show style segment. I recorded the Long Far 1 joke.

Someone mentioned that in the past when he sees a young woman driving a sports car, he will tink that the girl has been 包 by someone.

丹爷 joked that we will all be 包, by Long Far International.

The next segment was the product users testimonials

This is the testimonial by someone with very serious eczema.

He shared the importance of drinking enough water during the detoxification process and how the lack of water led to inflammation of his skin and extreme itchiness.

Taking 排毒美颜宝 clears the body’s detoxification channels. Once the healing process starts, there is great improvement in his skin condition

Other testimonial includes an old Malay uncle who had bad sinus and congested lungs from his heavy smoker habits of many years. After taking 排毒美颜宝, his sinus condition is so much better and he is able to sleep well at time as he has no problems breathing now.

Imu 6 testimonials

We also had testimonials of Imu 6. Gabriel’s wife has been taking Imu 6 for 5 yrs. Though she started taking it for beauty and body maintenance ( slimming ) reasons, her constitution improved. She used to be very weak and would fall sick easily.

************************************************************************************

The most impactful testimonial for Imu 6 has to be the one given by Mingwei’s mum.
His father used to suffer from high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes.
He went fishing and got a bad infection that caused a huge wound in his leg that even reveal his bones.

Docs had no solution to the infection and recommended for his leg to be amputated.

Thankfully, auntie was introduced to Imu 6 and started uncle on it. Within 3 mths, not only was uncle’s leg saved, his diabetes also came under control. He recovered to a level that he could even enjoy his favourite ice kachang.

As for auntie herself, she gave testimonial to 排毒美颜宝 for solving her 尿失禁 problem that has bothered her for the past 10 years.

************************************************************************************

InBody 3.0 Body Composition Analyzer

Last but not least, Eddie shared with us some information on the InBody 3.0 which is a body composition analyzer for medical users.

We have brought this machine in to help customers understand their percent of body fats, Protein Mass and Muscle Mass.

InBody 3.0 shows the nutrition status, segmental lean mass, edema value etc in a detailed report with high accuracy.

Based on the readings and report, you can work on a weight management program customised to your body conditions and track the progress scientifically.

I would like to try this for myself and for my family to try it too. Always good to know more about your health condition.

Katong Sin Chew Cake Shop

24 07 2006

we call tis cake shop 工商 bread affectionately coz there’s an Industrial and Commercial Bank branch at the blk.

wat can i say? the bread is beli beli delicious lor.

i tink their flour is special coz the bread’s got tis beli fragrant and sweet smell tat u dun get from the commerical brands eg. Breadtok / 4 leaves / prima deli.

business is super good lor. if u come too late eg. 5pm, a lot of the bread will be sold out.

the bread is displayed in old fashioned glass cabinets wif no labeling coz most of the customers r regulars hoo recognise the filling of the buns by their design.

but it’s not uncommon to hear patrons saying wat kind of bun they haf picked is…haha…mi is one of them lor.

for the moment, i noe 1 corn on top is custard and 1 raisin on top is char siew.
and wif 2 little pointed tips is sardines.

YY enjoying the cupcake.

we were there on sat and sun so both QQ and YY got a cupcake each every time we’re there.

the shop is quite small so i usualli instruct them to wait outside

Dinner and Nasi Ayam Penyet

24 07 2006

all tat swimming was making young and old hungry and we went to bedok food centre for dinner.

haben been here in a while. the last time i came here was when my dad was still ard and pre-upgrading.

the ching teng is good but queue was long!

after the comment left on my nasi ayam penyet posting way back in apr for ah nee’s bday, i started to notice tat tis dish is actualli quite common.

see, got 2 stalls selling it there!

the little ones were so hungry tat they started eating the plain rice before our dishes came!

shot taken after YY & QQ each had a ride on their own.

i couldn’t even hear the song of the kiddy ride…seems quite boring to mi but they enjoyed it anyway

QQ post swimming

24 07 2006

all tat swimming has made little ms piggy reli hungry!

her fav snack : rice crackers

The little ones in the pool

24 07 2006

I’ve had tis question a couple of times so here’s some advice for mommys

yes, QQ has swimming costume. it’s a cute 2 -piece wif sleeves.

unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to b doing a reli good job of keeping her warm in the pool. her poor belly is exposed to the harsh elements.

thot of getting those full suits kind but kids outgrow their clothes in a flash.

tis time ard, my mum told mi to juz let her go in shorts in t-shirt and guess wat?? tis is the longest tat she lasted in the pool and the outfit do not hinder her having fun in any way.

definitely highly recommended by mi now to let kids swim in shorts and t-shirt.

frankly, the whole concept of dressing kids up in fanciful swimming gear is more fun for the adults den for the benefit of the kids. so parents, dun b selfish!

and mummy’s mummy noes best

Focus on the Big 5

21 07 2006

It’s no surprise that five key health factors that make your RealAge older also steal late-life independence.

Which risk factors are they? Not cancer. Not cholesterol.

The top five health factors that increase the likelihood you’ll need help caring for yourself when you’re older are smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and inactivity.

Luckily, regular exercise can help take care of four of those risk factors. And if you don’t smoke, you’ll be able to exercise even more.

The difference between people who remain self-sufficient and those who wind up dependent on others seems obvious: Self-sufficient people lead a healthy lifestyle.

Over 20 years of data prove it, and the payoff can be huge, especially when you start in midlife.

For instance, midlife diabetic smokers are five times more likely to end up in a nursing home than people free of these factors.

Sure, change can be hard. But when people manage their diabetes well or trade an hour on the couch for an hour at the gym, the odds of suffering chronic, debilitating conditions decline dramatically.

Studies show that the most active people are the least likely to have trouble taking care of themselves — bathing, dressing, getting around — later in life.

So if you smoke, join a quitting program.

If you don’t exercise, start walking. If you’ve put on weight, work on dropping it.

If you have high blood pressure, commit to controlling it. I

f you have diabetes, get aggressive about managing it.

And if you fall short, don’t give up. Try, try again.

the official reply from AH on yest’s zaobao.

Excerpt :

My 2 cents worth on the topic :

Why r we not teaching the students who haf difficulties in understanding the original sch song, the meaning behind the song?

By compromising and changing the original sch song to suit the lower standards of chinese, do the students understand the new song more?

Talk by Dr Anthony Kleinsmith

17 07 2006

attended a talk by dr anthony kleinsmith yest at LFI.

the talk was beli interesting as dr kleinsmith is beli knowledgable and humourous.

he touched abt the science of anti-aging and immune system. i was surprised at the no. of external reports and studies available on his product Imu 6.

The confidence and pride he has in Imu 6 is conveyed throughout his talk as he prides himself on the integrity and stringent processes he has in place to ensure the colostrum is TRUE colostrum and not transitional milk tat other colostrum products merely are.

This is supported by studies and tests done by Cornell University.

Dr Kleinsmith shared tat he was in Singapore during SARS and visited the hospitals during the period. He only shared how that they managed to give colostrum to some of the patients and the recovery was astonishing.

I was preggy during SARS period and stationed at Hitachi coz I was leading the split workforce.

To be honest, I wasn’t overly concerned about SARS myself and continued taking cabs daily the entire 6 mths tat I was there. There were some cases tat cab drivers had to b quarantined when cases were reported.

as wat Dr Kleinsmith pointed out, if ur immune system is strong enuff, u haf little to fear.

and the flu jab is quite useless lor. luckily i didn’t take the jab. i oredi quite hardy against flu without the jab and so many ppl fell sick after taking the jabs…duh

i got more colostrum for myself and the kids.

i can testify to the effects coz i m still energetic despite the horrific hrs I keep and the mere hrs tat i sleep.

oso, i survived the world cup beli well while the monster flu bug as wende puts it, attacked and won the battle on so many of my frens.

mi got the book titled ‘Colostrum’ by Dr Anthony.

Got it autographed and took lotsa picts wif him.

rare opportunity coz he muz onli been in sg twice in past 8 yrs to give talks.

but we got him here onli after the first mth we launch the product.

YT and moi wif Dr Kleinsmith.

the number of illnesses tat colostrum can help is amazing, from asthma to lupus to diabetes etc…the list goes on

but juz to boost one’s immune system so tat u can avoid falling sick is oredi impressive lor

the showcase was full if Imu 6 for Dr Kleinsmith’s visit.

note the yoghurt drinks in the showcase wif S Factor. Now the yoghurt drinks are available from the cafeteria.

Gay partners and stalkers

15 07 2006

last sat’s conversation over dinnr was reli funni as i recall it.

On gay partners :
SY would choose HJ over ZY as his gay partner.
ZY claims tat HJ understands his jokes better den YJ.

On stalkers :
ZY makes a lousy smokescreen when HQ enlisted his help to discourage her stalker.
He didn’t manage to get flowers and showed up late at her workplace.

XM mentioned her stalker which SY wasn’t aware of.

food for thot : how should stalkers b warded off or handled?
are they dangerous? especially if it’s someone u noe.

a cctv was juz installed at my blk. for wat, i haf no idea.
i didn’t tink we haf an immediate security threat since i come back late every nite.

My email to SY

14 07 2006

This mail was sent as a reply to SY for sharing some info on efforts made by other Chinese school on preserving their school culture and most imptly, their school song.

The many efforts made by the school are indeed commendable and clearly demonstrated the desire to preserve as much of their legacy as possible.

———————————————————————————————-

Hi Siyuan,

Thanks for sharing this.

Considering AHS has a similar Chinese background and deep roots in Chinese culture, the efforts made by XXXXX to preserve their school history and culture are indeed commendable.

I am sure much thought was put into the process of incorporating the school history into the syllabus and I wonder if the same amount of efforts was made by AHS to preserve the school’s history, in its entirety.

There was an article in Zaobao in Jun that was focused mainly on Hassan having served the school for 48 years. And it was mentioned that the school has published a book of AHS’ history and it will be taught to all Sec One students.

I saw this article shortly after discovering the school song change and it is such an irony that we have forsake our school song of more than 45 years when we claim to value our heritage. Surely the school song is an important part of our heritage?

And since it is a book on school history, I am assuming that the changes made to the school song should be properly documented in the book. I have not seen the book for myself but I will verify this.

Baohuan and I have discussed this topic at length, in fact almost daily over the past few weeks. And just to update everyone, we are carrying out or are planning the following course of actions. Incidentally, some of the action items are similar to XXXXX.

  • Baohuan is drafting a formal request to the school for the reinstatement of the original school song
  • Baohuan is researching the school song and working on translating the meaning to simplified Chinese. AHS can use this while teaching the school history to students. I believe that this is one of the best gift that an ex-student can present to the school for its golden jubilee. Since we were told that most students and even teachers do not understand the original school song, this is good learning for the teachers and even the Principal too.
  • We are planning to submit the petition personally next week to the Principal
  • We are searching for the person who wrote the original school song as making changes is such an insult to this person’s work.

Starting the petition was in no way a rash & impulsive decision. It was hard for us to sit around and do nothing while we waited for more than a week for the VP to revert to us on our enquiry on the circumstances around the school song change. But we wanted to give the school a chance to explain the changes to us.

When the reply finally came, it was brief and disappointing to say the least. Perhaps the school did not feel that they need to account to ex students about their decision.

That reinforced my decision to go ahead with the petition for ex students to have an avenue to express their support for our cause to reinstate the original school song we have known and sung for more than 45 years.

For the initial days following the start of the petition, the signatures were coming in slowly and I wondered if the number of people who feel strongly about the change and care enough about AHS is indeed so little.

However, over the past few days, the number of signatures and comments left have been most encouraging. I am especially glad to see so many unfamiliar names, many from recent batches of students, expressing their concern for the school.

The petition has not only served its purpose of informing ex students about the changes made to the school song, it has also brought so many cohorts of ex students together (spanning across 20 years! ) to be united in our appeal to the school to reconsider this decision.

Warmest Regards
Liv ( Fengjuan of 4A/1994 )

so glad tat petition is gaining momentum. signatures r definitely coming in and i m so glad when i read the comments tat so mani ppl from various batches feel as strongly as mi abt the sch song change.

purpose of the petition is not juz to get the song reinstated.

it’s oso to raise awareness among ex AHS folks and unite them in restoring our old sch song.
i tink we r on the rite track, judging by the comments. i m so touched by everyone supporting tis cause. coz initially, the signatures were coming in so slowly tat i felt like i was fighting tis war alone.

——————————————————————————————–

was chatting wif baohuan when it occured to us to look for the person hoo wrote the song in the first place. coz baohuan is working on providing an explanation of the song into simple chinese to help the students understand it.

person hoo wrote the song is 罗慷烈.

we use yahoo search and discovered a really respected and famous 学者 in hk by tis name.

can’t confirm if it’s him though he’s old enuff to haf written the song. feels like we r doing detective work, juz trying to track him dwn.

women has evolved so quickly, how abt men?

or mayb women have always been stronger in a lot of ways but suppress themselves to fit the image society advocates for docile women?

either way, our needs r so different now. i haf nbr been and nbr will b a sweet young thing (SYT). i dun even wana act cute or stoopid for tat matter.

mayb i’m not playing my cards to my advantage but i dun tink i need to lower myself in order to look up to a man.

kneecaps too hard, can’t bring myself to bow to anyone.

so i shall continue surviving extremely well. whenever i carry 2 bags of 10 kg rice home, i feel like a cow doing labour work. but i m grateful for my strength.

Reinstatement of AHS sch song-petition underway

9 07 2006

the petition’s been up for couple of days liao. response has been pretty slow.

but i’m glad tat there’r old boys from other batches tat i duno hoo signed.

the petition is not juz abt getting the sch song reinstated. it’s more abt creating awareness among all ex AHS ppl tat tis ridiculous act was commited by the board and approved by the alumni.

after we made a formal enquiry to the school abt the school song change, we were informed that the alumni has decided to play both songs at the anni dinner.

isn’t tat common sense? and wat is the point??

if u made a decision to change the song, the least u can do is to stick to it and stand by it.
play the new school song at the dinner and shock all the past cohorts of students attending the dinner!

y do these ppl haf no stand? y try to make use of the old song to please the old boys when u haf gotten rid of it? y make use of it as a carrot for us to attend the dinner?

i saw some postings on the web abt ppl hoo haf been trying to boost sales of the dinner.

trust mi, if we feel for the sch, no need to do tis, we’ll go back out of our own accord. anyway, the invites were only recd last thurs by everyone i noe.

frankly, dinner at the expo holds little significance to us. wouldn’t it be better if it’s held at on campus?

i’ve been wanting to revisit the sch but after the last incident when the security called the police for SY and gang’s trepassing, i haf second thots abt it.

i wonder if the new publication for the 50th anni has the new song onli. i hope the publication has an explanation of how the school song changed.

mayb i’ll get hold of a copy and write to them abt the discrepancy in the school song bet tis publication and the one i haf for the 30th anniversary.

Livia, your destiny is to be a Teacher

4 07 2006

Whether you know it or not, this is the role that is most in tune with who you are at your core.
As a Teacher, you are unusually adept at assessing and maximizing the talent of those around you.
As a natural leader who inspires others, people are constantly encouraged by being near you, and your enthusiasm is contagious.
With your supportive nature, you typically motivate people to meet their goals and believe anything is possible.
These idealistic beliefs are marvelous, but can lead to disappointment and even bad judgment if you aren’t careful.
You expect the best from people, but they can not always deliver.
Remember, in general, that your outgoing, charismatic, reliable ways will take you far in life.

wow! i nbr considered tat coz i’ve always felt tat responsiblility of being teacher is beli beli great.

hmm…worth considering lor

Buzz Off!

4 07 2006

Do mosquitoes make you slaphappy?

Nothing can spoil a perfect summer picnic faster than a cloud of whining mosquitoes.
But spraying your body with potent chemical repellents isn’t very appetizing. What’s the solution?

Try one of the newer repellents (Repel makes one) that contain oil of lemon eucalyptus and work as well as products that contain low levels of DEET. Sweet.

Oil of lemon eucalyptus is now registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use as a repellent, which means it’s considered safe and effective when used as directed. When applying any mosquito repellent, remember the following:

  • Apply before going outdoors.
  • Keep repellent away from kids and apply it for them.
  • To protect the face, spray repellent onto your palms and apply, avoiding your eyes and mouth.
  • Bugs love to bite at night, so for extra protection, wear long-sleeved shirts and pants.
  • Don’t overdo it; heavy applications are usually unnecessary.
  • Don’t spray cuts or rashes.
  • If a product causes skin irritation, switch brands.
  • Wash the repellent off –
especially from your hands and face — when you’re done spending time outdoors.

why does tis article reminds mi of cambodia? when i bathed myself in ‘off’ everytime before stepping out of the room.

definitely overdose of ‘off’ lor. in fact, i choked everytime i sprayed myself.

and i rem sy’s comments tat they dun need ‘off’. they juz need to stand near mi. duh

and it’s so poisonous i killed a lizard by spraying it wif ‘off’. i thot insect repellent so lizard will be ‘repelled’ and will slide away. tink again lor. the lizard struggled abit and DIED outside the bathroom door which made it impossible for mi to go into the bathroom coz i was so scared of it.

and muz mention tis. last nite as i was bathing, a baby lizard dropped onto my leg. sibeh suay ah! i was terrified of course. sigh…and i stepped on a lizard before. mi is damn unlucky when lizards r concerned

Silence Is Golden

1 07 2006

Go ahead, turn up the smooth jazz — but hit the pause button once in a while, too.
Music can significantly impact your blood pressure and heart and respiratory rates, as well as your soul.
Not surprisingly, music with a fast beat excites, while slow rhythms soothe.
But nothing is as relaxing as silence.
Researchers found that even after listening to the mellowest music, a pause from the surrounding sound produced the most relaxation, even more than 5 minutes of quiet meditation.

It doesn’t matter what kind of music you enjoy: classical, rap, rock, or jazz.
Not only can the right sounds give you pleasure, but they also can elevate your mood, relax your muscles, and help reduce overall stress.
But once the player stops, the mental effects subside, resulting in even greater relaxation than before you popped in the CD or switched on your iPod.
So the next time you’re feeling blah or tense, hit the play button — but don’t forget to pause.
