wanted to write abt narnia since i watched it but kept forgetting abt it.

till i found the games on neopets tat were narnia themed.

very nice show and topics & values touched on were quite serious eg. family ties, betrayal, greed & lies.

of course, good triumphs in the end but i find it very touching & the special effects were awesome.

Feed a fever, Starve a cold??

now i am always confused if it should be feed a fever, starve a cold or starve a fever, feed a cold.

and it always bothers mi when i am 1) having a fever or 2) having a cold.

i did a Yahoo search on feed a fever, starve a cold which is leaving mi even more confused coz nobody seems to noe the correct version too.

i onli noe fever cannot take rice & sugar coz heaty mah.

den tis american site claims tat chicken soup is the best medicine for flu. ang moh dun get cough wif flu issit? i eat chicken yest & cough like going to die from TB tdy.

i still tink my plum lime is best for all ailments. onli prob is i realise my plum lime expired liao. expired can still drink rite? it’s so saltish & preserved tat i dun tink will spoil…still taste as good & i didn’t get food posioning after drinking for past 3 days. 自问自答！

election aka GE

my two cents worth on politics, i left some comments on bm’s blog so decided to copy & paste my comments here too :

firstly, the govt is not even elected by most singaporeans. y i say tat leh?

all singaporeans above 21 haf the right to vote but how many ppl haf the chance to exercise tis right before? at least not most of the ppl i noe. tat includes all my lunch kakis & all my peers.

and certainly not mi, so did i choose the govt? NO! and tis is not a question if the govt is doing good job or not. i tink they do a decent job & society is stable & i’m proud of my country but can it be better? we nbr noe.

in fact, i dun noe anyone hoo has voted before, except my mum when we were staying in bedok more den 13 yrs ago. tat means she oso haben vote for the past few GE. no wonder ppl choose to go on hols when GE come

see, the real prob is where we stay. dun complain no chance to vote, rite?
we juz not staying in the correct constituency so no opposition parties want us…sob sob.

see, we are orphans in the political race. 没人要！

walkover not considered elected & it’s not a true victory when there is no contest to begin with.

all MPs who were not truly elected should wake up to tis fact tat they haf no idea how many ppl in his constituency supports him. the ppl he serves had no choice! did someone mention a confidence vote in the straits times? yea! and if he doesn’t win the vote of confidence how? change candidates?

it’s unlike a job selection process / promotion when the best candidate wins. they were juz lucky they’re the only candidates

and their entire term is a probation coz they may be challenged in the next election.

den maybe they’ll work harder for the ppl.

like the covered walkway from my block tat is 13 yrs overdue…but i guess beggars can’t be choosers rite?

so i really haf the opposition party to thank if i get a chance to vote for the 1st time in my life. ( hopefully it’s tis yr! )

not tat i noe much abt the opposition parties. i onli noe got worker’s party ( the hammer mah ) and the one tat Chiam Chee Tong is in…issit singapore democratic party or change name or change party liao? there was some saga, rite?

dun say young singaporeans dun care abt politics. care oso no use. 英雄无用武之地. can vote but nbr got chance to so how to haf our say? go to govt website & make noise?
hmm…i want to complain abt my carpark next…but tat’ll be another posting and of course to the correct authorities namely, HDB. carpark belongs to them rite? since my mthly parking paid to them.

but i tink the saddest thing is, most ppl i asked, told mi no need to vote lah, even if got competition. mayb they not telling the truth. afterall, cannot discuss tis kind of thing one mah. wait ppl hear us & catch us how?

but i juz sharing wif them the excitement tat mayb i’ll finally get to vote for the first time since reaching 21. somehow, nobody seems to share my enthusiasm.

oso as a mother, i haf every responsibility to play a more active role in shaping the environment they grow up in. be it, being environmentally friendly to caring for another fellow being in less fortunate circumstances whether in or out of singapore & being more concerned in the country’s politics.

went to Loyang Tua Pek Gong last nite. reached there ard midnite. as always, cars not allowed into the temple grounds so we parallel parked outside the factories den took the free shuttle.

now i would tink tat it would be fairly quiet at tis time of the nite but on the contrary, it was very very packed. 真的是人头窜动. mayb everyone is coming to pray after the visiting is completed.

i tink i am too 粗鲁. the trinket is a wedding flavour tat i got slightly more than 1 mth ago & i managed to break the string it’s dangling from. somemore the string like a bit metallic one.

juz had runny nose for a while. i wonder if tat means i’m recovering but 我的病情加重了, and coming down wif flu as well?

ms little vainpot loves taking fotos too.

didn’t get a shot of her in her new year dress. it’s a long white dress with butterfly & flower motifs & some sequins tat kept dropping off when qiqi pulled them.

she’s taller den i thot coz i felt the dress was too big for her but the length was alrite

conclusion : need to re sew the sequins back on the dress post CNY.

Mi still sick

mi was nursing a sore throat on mon which i thot i recovered from. but it came back on thurs & developed into a cough on fri.

now i coughing & haf phlegm…sigh

Chinese New Year’s Preparations

juz washed my car last evening. been wanting to do tat for some time but wkdays are tough on timing & the weather’s wet. it’s much cheaper to wash the car myself, juz $0.40 for 2 buckets of water & some TLC. i’m creating a gift register & haf juz decided tat the $$ i saved from car wash will be put into this gift cause. 1 car wash costs $6 so I save $5.60 yest : )

applied armourall to most places & leathercare on 2nd row seats & front passenger seat.

need to run out & draw $$ as well as top up petrol & apply the leathercare on the driver’s seat…mayb even put up the 3rd row of seats.

before tat, need to sort out the new clothes. the kids haf got new clothes but i didn’t get anything specifically for CNY. usually i’ll juz dig thru my cupboard for something new ( & hopefully red !) to wear.

not much mood tis yr, mayb becoz it’s the first yr tat my father is not ard, reunion dinner is not complete when someone is missing.

Here’re some of the more interesting new year goodies we got from Sheng Siong

yeowyeow loves these mandarin oranges candy & I gave Steve & Marie one each yest…tastes good!

旺旺 is qiqi & yeowyeow’s fav. they both love the rice crackers & there’s now a special edition white packaging one from 绿米 tat i’ve only managed to get at 2 places. will take a foto to show everyone. it’s 3 pieces in a pack instead of 2 & taste really light & crispy.

classic chocolates tat we get every yr for CNY since i’m little. i love all 3 flavours.

the 嘴口酥 is peanut flavoured & taste quite good. many piece, i tink abt 6 in each individual small packet. they provided samples & we decided to get some after tasting it.

Shopping at Sheng Siong

went to Sheng Siong @ Bedok Reservior wif mum, shupin & the 2 kids last nite.

the place was packed wif new year goodies & ppl. but the atmosphere was fun & everyone seems to be in a hurry to grab as much stuff as possible for the new year.

yeowyeow went around choosing candies tat he likes while qiqi took in the whole mood & danced to the new year songs playing in the background.

Fumigation OR Fire???

there were lotsa smoke when i drove off Loyang’s left turn to PIE tis morning.

my first thot was “FIRE!!”.

i contemplated for a few secs if i should try to call the fire brigade while driving. i haf an ear piece but i dun use it so it’s not even in the car. speaker is more useful to mi.

den suddenly it hit mi tat the condo which is the origin of the smoke, may be actualli doing fumigation…i guess the onli way to verify this is thru ur nose. if it’s a real fire, surely i will smell smoke? so seems like, it’s not even a fire to begin wif.

年糕 galore!

yeowyeow oredi sampled the 年糕 we bought but most of the 年糕 are still intact & being lined up in the kitchen cupboard.

mummy dearest says tat the 年糕 taste quite good…frankly, all taste the same to me. aren’t they all juz sweet?

Fishermen’s Village

Had dinner wif Jocelyn at Fishermen’s Village last nite.

It’s been ages since I last dined there. I remembered it as being nearer to the carpark near the roundabout where PA is so I drove there direct. But the carpark was deserted & Jocelyn advised me to park at the next carpark instead.

Watever happened to the little prawn fishing, duck rearing place tat was there?

and can someone refresh my memory abt the name of the little pub tat was rite next to fishermen’s village? the one tat paul, von & moi used to go to for bbq chicken wings.

the last time i dined at fishermen’s was wif yeowyeow. i remembered sitting at a table that was on the sand as yeowyeow took off his shoes & was totally fascinated by the feel of sand on his bare feet. such is how deprived city dwellers are!

tis time, the whole area seems much bigger & was supposed to be under 1 management.

I remembered the stalls were all different in the past.

wat was really funny was how they collected the money for each dish separately.

we had to dig out $$ many times for our coconuts, satay, hor fun, chicken wings & mango chicken. not the smartest way in the world to run the operations & we got a little pissed as we had problems digging $$ out after we started on the chicken wings. mayb we are not supposed to start eating till all the food has been served & paid for. anyway, we were hungry.

the ambience is brillant though we sat rite beside the sea & could hear the waves breaking in the water beneath us. so bintan feeling. and it’s so near my place. but i hardly ever go there. mayb once in 3 yrs??

ok, i promise to be back sooner tis time & bring more ppl to enjoy the view & dining ambience.

den i watched 全能美食秀。

the donuts or 甜甜圈 as they call it looks totally yummy! muz ask LJ to get Krispy Kreme donuts when she next goes to Sydney….oops. i’m such a glutton. incidentally, marie loves donuts too. we make good teamies coz we both love to eat! haha…not juz tat lah, we’re both very frank ppl too.

and they showed different ways of eating 年糕 too besides the plain way of deep frying with flour coating. they wrapped it with cheese & 云吞皮. looks good!

the host said the best 年糕 are made by 客家人…..heng ah! my mum is “kek” & we always haf delicious 年糕 coated wif flour & egg den deep fried. i dun like eating 年糕 tat hasn’t been deep fried. too sweet for my liking…i’ve nbr been a big fan of “kuek”.

and i noe my 外婆 used to make 年糕 but my mum nbr make before leh.

by the way, we bought 20 small 年糕 yesterday…hehe…will take picture of them lined up neatly in the cupboard.

Lazy Sunday afternoon

the weather’s been really unpredictable.

i was intending to wash the car, bathe den do some ironing of my office jackets. watched a bit of tv & continued to work hard at my scarf & did a bit of blogging.

guess wat??! It started to pour for an hour! Too lazy to wash car tdy. Will do so on sat…hehe

sigh! the weather really spoils the mood to go out. bad for the business at chinatown, i’m sure.

2006 has been an extremely wet year!

my work’s off to a busy start tis year which is great! i hope to be up to speed asap.

okie, time to get to work..on my ironing & gotta clear some office work later coz tomolo’s a bz day for sure.

Durian Time!

wat better way to end our shopping but giving ourselves a durian treat?!

yummy! shared 2 durians wif my mum. tis is the 1st time i eat durian at the stall, not counting the durian plantation eating experience.

i dun like getting my hands all dirty outside…a bit like eating chilly crabs but if u tabao chilly crabs, may get cold & not as nice & restaurants can wash hands.

Shopping at Chinatown Market

mum & moi took a shortcut thru chinatown mkt to avoid the rain. we were surprised tat the wet market at the basement of chinatown mkt is still open so we did a bit of marketing.

bought some 大吉 and some pork balls, crab balls for the reunion dinner’s steamboat.

there was so much seafood being sold, even a stall selling fresh abalone!

i saw a stall tat had many live frogs, catfish & tortoises….eeks…i can’t imagine eating something i see alive, except crab & fish.

the display at the veges stall was very pretty and neat.

Chinese New Year Festives

greeted by the strong festive mood in chinatown.

of course, it was crowded but lotsa things to see & buy.

chinese new year is the time for new things be it clothings or household items. & time for lotsa good food & festive food.

Chinatown visit on Sat

accompanied my mum to chinatown on sat.

after parking at the multi storey carpark, i walked thru the roadside stalls where a lot of interesting wares were sold.

i love the nonya porcelein & was amazed by tis stall tat had lotsa & lotsa rings. but the rings were really big & wif semi precious stones so very “uncle”.
my fingers & hand not big enuff to carry it off.

Famous Chicken Rice for lunch

was going to have 红糟面线 for lunch again on sat but unfortunately, tat coffeeshop had a blackout.

walked over to the next coffeeshop & found tis stall wif lotsa newspaper cuttings & ppl queuing.

chicken rice is a true fav among us singaporeans so i joined the queue too.

the soya sauce chicken is really not bad but i still prefer 白斩鸡 : P

I haf been telling ppl how Milo is finally recognising Dinosaur…a fav concoction of iced milo wif milo topping….totally sinful but full of milo flavour.

the coolest thing about going for jap class at jcs is i can pray at 四马路观音庙 every sat after class.

i dropped a stitch but managed to fix it back. i’m learning to see the pattern of the finished work.

Found another piece of work finished long time ago…tink it should be 5 yrs ago for yeow.

very sweet light blue color & has rows of popcorn stitches…..tink i’ll get a small water bottle & use it myself.

i love the effect of popcorn stitch much better den fan so i use it a lot.

btw, tis is definitely 100X nicer den the Siggs white crochet bottle holder wif no design watsoever.

No. of kids

it’s so exciting to see the resemblance bet qiqi & moi~!!

how can ppl not want to haf their own kids? not becoz they are egoistic & juz want to procreate miniature versions of themselves but having ur own flesh & blood who is always a part of u is such an emotionally powerful thing. ok, i dun wana sound like i’m promoting for higher birth rate.

i juz tink tat ppl want to haf children but do tink twice abt the no. of kids.

1 kid is way too lonely.
2 kids is juz rite for company ( i mean for the kids ) but oredi quite demanding on the caregivers.

i like kids & the more the merrier but given the standard of living, i dun juz mean feeding the kids but buying them clothes & necessities, expenses of bringing them out & paying for education is a huge strain.

but the crunch comes is when it comes to childcare. childcare centres in office areas are on the high end of budget. getting a maid brings the usual arguments of being able to 放心 anot. grandparents can’t cope beyond 2 kids. wat choice do we haf? unfortunately most s’pore mums don’t haf the luxury of being stay home mums and tear our hair out worrying abt childcare. sigh.

dear govt, the baby bonus is better den nuthing but #1 thing tat stops ppl from having more kids is childcare. solving tis is more practical & effective den monetary incentives though of course we don’t mind some help wif our finances.

Bedok Library is cool!

sent my mum to bedok to perm hair on sun while i took the kiddos to the library. the hairdresser auntie who also cut my hair when i was little, told my mum tat qiqi looks juz like mi when i was little.

wah! i dun tink i’ve been there post revamp so i was surprised at how cool it is.

yeowyeow & qiqi really enjoyed it. i juz had a hard time convincing them tat it’s not ok to run around coz there were some kids doing tat at the children’s section on 3rd floor.

yeowyeow chose a book on spiders & another on scorpios….hmm…budding scientist or it’s juz a boyz thing to be interested in stuff like insects.

we borrowed quite a number of books. have onli read a couple. nbr mind, CNY got many days of hols so will put the books to good use.

den we had chocolate cake & teriyaki chicken burger at the cafe downstairs. very very nice & good value for $$.

tink the kiddos really enjoyed the trip & so low budget & educational ( or healthy ). good choice to bring kids when nowhere to go. s’pore onli how big, always duno where to bring the kids. i end up at suntec most of the time.

Meaningful phrases I saw today about children

wow! my heart went all ‘touchy’ after reading tis. so touching hor! and so 伟大. hehe, but tis can be interpreted both ways…like how i terrorised yeowyeow into writing his chinese name in proper strokes & size for an hour….i still tink i traumatised him though he appears none the worse for it…haha…he was yawning away at the end of the hr.

A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in or the kind of car I drove… but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

and make the last part, the world may be different because of my kind words or actions.

I haven’t been blogging regularly of late…got so many things i wana blog abt but sometimes no time at nite & i’m sleeping at 2am mostly…things are really picking up at work..it is so exciting to be bz again. i love having the chance to learn so many things so quickly! will work hard!

Delicious 红糟面线

went for my 1st jap class last sat at jcs. the class ended at 12.30pm & i had time to grab lunch before going down to coslab for the skincare & beauty products class at 2pm.

i had a hard time finding carpark in the morning so i parked at midlink plaza instead.

walked over to 四马路 to pray before lunch. walking past the row of coffeeshops opp the temple, i saw many ppl eating 红糟面线 which really looked lovely.

managed to find the store in a corner of the coffeeshops and i had yummy 红糟面线 for lunch.

i took a beautiful picture of my but it’s gone and i’ve deleted it! how?? nbr mind, i’ll eat it again tis sat when i go for class….hehe

looks good but it’s juz overdue by 13 YEARS!!

sigh! i guess at long last, whoever is in charge of building the walkways have finally got it into their heads that yesh, it’s a long long run from the bus stop to the nearest block ( my block ).

HDB had the sense to build covered walkways between all the blocks in the cluster 13 years ago but it’s 200m dash from the bus stop to the block….is tat plain stoopid or wat??

Tiger Beer Factory AKA Asia Pacific Brewery tour

we visited the Tiger Beer Factory AKA Asia Pacific Brewery last Mon 9th Jan. It was a good day to go as Tue was a Public Hol due to Hari Raya Haji.

quite educational as we learnt abt the operations of Tiger Beer Factory AKA Asia Pacific Brewery & also the steps in producing & getting the beer to us drinkers. the catered food was quite good too. but it is befitting tat the best part of the evening is the beer. the tiger beer does taste better den wat we get outside. even the heineken taste better but mayb tat’s becoz i usually get bottled heineken tat has gone thru pasteurisation.

we had drinking games but singapore was sadly outnumbered in the races. and i played pool real briefly.

went home straight after the tour ended which i’m proud of myself.

Sudoku

call mi suaku but i haben heard of sudoku till tdy.

LJ juz bought tis highly addictive Sudoku puzzle book from Manchester. sounds like a really fun maths game & i wonder if i can write some formulas to auto compute it. will be my next pet project…after my scarves for HQ & YT which i doubt i can ever finish….been driving a lot so really no time to do.

Indian rojak & Mustafa shopping

HQ, LJ , Marie & moi went to Mustafa tdy for toiletries shopping. of course, as usual, we ended up getting more den toiletries. there was so much to see & touch. HQ was looking for a luggage & we were spoiled for choices. the best part was opening up the prospective luggages to satisfy our curiosity…hehe…quite fun…and we haf the experienced luggage user LJ there to give tips.

we went to the 24 hrs but not so bright & modern looking Mustafa Centre where i got a cute pair of shoes for qiqi & HQ got Lee Cooper boots. luggage & toiletries shopping was done at the open from 10.30am to 11.30pm Mustafa ‘departmental store’ Centre.

there was so much to see & we had all the leisure in the world to shop as the place wasn’t crowded. the selection was very impressive & we enjoyed the perfume test smelling part as well.

dinner was settled before shopping. marie & i had a small chappati each wif very salty rendang chicken. LJ had not very nice Nasi Briyani & HQ had bee hoon goreng wif ikan bilis…which i didn’t like too. HQ & i went to choose food for indian rojak & i asked for all the flour things in all 4 colours tat they had. turns out tat i’m the onli flour person so i ended up eating a lot of flour things while LJ asked where’s the meat…hehe, i usually skip stuff like hotdogs & fish filet when i eat indian rojak. my fav is 面粉 things & potatoes onli. rojak was passable but i wish they had naan. miss the butter naan i last had.

I just received a msg via friendster from Karen, yesh! Karen Goh, my long lost friend cum ex-colleague!

so excited tat i tink i can’t sleep tonite…as if…i dun tink i haf ever lost sleep before.

but really very very excited to find old acquaintances…and we were certainly more than mere acquaintances. it’s sad sometimes when we don’t manage to keep in touch wif close friends. i can onli attribute it to lack of effort on my part. try as i might, i am oredi having catch up dinners wif a lot of ppl yet it nbr seems to be enuff.

mayb some day, i should open a cafe or something tat all my frens can drop in to & see mi. hmm…actualli i’m more interested in a hobby shop where i can do my crochet & knitting…dream on, it’s very sad, but u can’t make a living from hobby shops….it has been my dream for the longest time ever.

anyway, i’m digressing real badly. can’t wait to see karen again & do a proper catch up. we haven met in yrs. there’s so much to say….we’re going to take days to get up to date wif each other’s lives.

or mayb, there’s no need to say so much abt wat has happened. it’s juz wonderful to haf made contact again. i tried sms-ing her on her bday at the 2 hps nos. i had but i tink both are outdated. such a disappointment.

but alas the wonders of technology! after all, if i haven’t found alan my primary skool classmate from yahoo schoolfrens…hoo noes when i’ll get around to blogging??!!

My 1st knitting class

Just back from my 1st knitting class. so excited…it’s so much easier wif someone teaching den reading instructions. i couldn’t figure out the instructions for so many yrs but wif brenda as teacher, suddenly it’s workable.

but the yarn was a killer. can’t even count the stitches not to talk about doing any pattern. in the end, brenda suggested i juz do knit so the way which i readily accepted. anything to make the task easier. tink i’m motivated enuff to try to finish YT’s scarf by next wk & start on one for HQ.

Rochor Beancurd

I was going to do a posting on walking…am still going to of course, but first, let mi write abt rochor beancurd.

now anyone hoo noes mi slightly better den the average acquaintance, would noe tat i don’t take most soy products. i dun take tofu, tau kua, tau pok & all other tau products….i dun even take soy milk. dun ask mi why…i juz dun like the taste & smell of it.

but there is one soy product tat i love, and that’s tau huay.

i remember eating tau huay since a kid & have always loved it.

but i haf not tried rochor beancurd till my super unlucky day 24 nov.

and tat was from the lor 39 stall in geylang. yest, i had beancurd from the selegie stall which su sin showed mi the way. i have long heard abt tis famous stall from joc, HQ & LJ but nbr had a chance to go there & didn’t know exactly where it was too.

tink my driving not very good coz the beancurd was a bit ‘chui’. but still very smooth & very nice. will intro the beancurd to my kids…tink they’ll love it too.

Karaoke pub

had drinks at bala to kick start the yr wif the gcs team on thurs.

some of us adjourned to a karaoke place at chinatown afterwards. it was an eye opener as the place was very local & not the kind of pub marie & i would go to normally. haven’s is so much better by comparison…hehe

but it was still good fun as carl provided us wif good singing & animation.

Food….glorious food at hitachi

marie et moi both skipped b/f on thurs so we decided to get a quick bite at 11. she had club sandwiches from cypress while i settled for bk’s croissantwich….one of my all time fav.

having eaten so late, we couldn’t take any lunch and marie et steve left for a client’s place.

i happily worked till around 3 when i had a hunger attack. i could feely my stomach growling & rumbling. it was den tat i realised there’s nuthing to eat at the concourse. at least nuthing good for a quick bite. i called hq & complained how hungry i was feeling. she suggested 汤圆 at army mkt but too far leh.

i really miss the food at hitachi badly so i sent hq & su sin tis sms :

i miss the ang ku kuek from oub centre

i miss han’s sandwich

they both told mi to get a job at hitachi den…sometimes i really wish…sigh.

in the end, i decided to go downstairs & mayb grab some monkey bread from starbucks.

i ended up at keypoint & was comtemplating whether to haf some 水饺汤. walked to the foodcourt & succumbed to the temptation of bah choh mee wif extra vinegar & chilli.

i didn’t ask for less mee pok & thot the serving a little too much. but 15 mins later, i had gobbled down everything.

see how clean my bowl is? feeling very full & satisfied too.

Turkish Cuisine

marie brought steve et moi for Turkey food on wed.

It was a nice & quaint little place tucked in Arab st. we sat out back where the back alley was. amazingly, there was a fair amt of tracffic thru the one way alley…i mean, how do ppl noe tat road is passable? we faced a shop where some young office working ppl were spending their time lazily smoking the 水烟…i duno wat’s tat called in english.

marie & moi ordered a yoghurt drink which tasted super yucky….*puke* when i recall the taste now. fortunately, we ordered a round of iced hisbiscus tea which tasted exactly like Ribena…yesh, it was tat nice!

marie had crispy chicken while steve & moi had lamb & chicken kebab. though we had to wait quite a while for the food, the food was really yummy! definitely worth the wait.

Placement Advertising / Product Placement FLOP

I haf read articles abt product placement in reality shows in the US & how scriptwriters end up changing the script to accomodate the product placement. but i didn’t expect singapore to fall victim to tis as well.

i was watching 愛的掌門人 last nite. Thomas Ong & Jacelyn Tay were having a cosy picnic when Thomas gave Jacelyn a bottle of Benedictine Dom as she’s such a sotong.

Ok, so he’s a Sensitive New Age Guy ( SNAG ) but giving your gf Dom is like so ridiculous. I do realise tat Dom is trying to change its image from being a confinement tonic to everyday tonic for women. But the choice of gift is juz so UNREAL.

if a guy gifs mi Dom, i’ll flip unless i’m expecting or have juz given birth.

of course if i’m above forty yrs old, u are welcome to gif mi Dom too coz tat’s women should drink when they get slightly more mature.

if someone i noe is such a sotong, i’ll buy gingko nuts which is famous for being brain food & improves memory.

yes, i am grateful to Dom for sponsoring the show & yes, i drink Dom myself & will continue to support the brand.

wat i cannot understand is how such a lame plot ended up in the show??!!

all the leads using the sponsored handfone or the leads drinking the sponsored alcohol in the show is totally acceptable to mi & looks realistic & believable. but the gift of Dom looks so 刻意 to mi tat it turns mi off instead. i feel like the scriptwriter is taking viewers as idiots hoo juz lap it up. if it had been a gift to Jacelyn’s mum, i wouldn’t have bat an eyelid…but of course tat may not go down well wif Dom tat is trying to appeal to younger women.

well, in my opinion, tis is one bad case of product placement being a flop.

Trillian – ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger & MSN all in one

I haf said tis many many times & i will say it again. MSN sucks!!! big time!!

between Yahoo! messenger & ICQ, i prefer Yahoo! messenger juz a little bit more coz the voice function for pc to pc call is idiot proof & i was able to use it since yrs back to tok to shu’en.

though i still use icq for sentimental reasons.

but MSN is in a league of its own….stoopid application….why can’t messages be sent when someone is offline?? and no, i dun use hotmail…dun need to & dun intend to…yahoo mail has always been good enuff for mi.

but everyone i noe has moved to msn…whether it is by choice or like moi, forced by circumstances as i wana stay connected to my frens…i duno.

however, i d/l msn yest & within 5 mins of using it….i hate it!

den zhiyang was online last nite & gave mi the link at cnet for d/l trillian.

am using it now & HEY! it looks, feels & works like icq & Yahoo! messenger, NOT msn….which is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!

and it even has the email notification for my yahoo mail…tdy is my lucky day!

dear frens, pls try tis out for urself & kiss msn goodbye. yesh, we’re still forced to stay on the network but at least we dun need the STOOPID application.

Caffeine overload

mayb i was juz hungry, coz i feel slightly better after lunch. had lunch at 4th storey….very good lunch to start the yr wif…hehe….good omen for plenty of good food tis yr!

after the half cuppa cuppucino i had tis morning, i decided to try my hand at the coffee machine so i persuaded marie to haf a cuppa. unfortunately, the milk didn’t appear as it should so ms soon ended up wif half a cuppa of cuppucino minus milk ( isn’t tat espresso? )

den steve came along & fixed the pipe for the milk which wasn’t properly inserted. he pressed on the little button showing 2 cuppa & my guess is tat’s double expresso.

conclusion, my little adventure wif the coffee machine is getting my team over caffeined so they’ll prob still be working when i come in tomolo morning : P

Spinning sensation

in a good mood & going to start a great yr wif a wonderful first day at work.

got a physical constraint though coz i woke up wif my head spinning tis morning & yesh, it’s still spinning now. i hope i dun faint. decided against driving tdy….conserve fuel…..haha….and i dun wana get too reliant on the car. well, i can do a whole posting solely about taking public transport VS driving.

i actualli made an exception tdy & had half a cuppa cuppucino tat brenda made for mi. followed by milo. even had oatmeal porridge tis morning but no, the spinning sensation remains.

wonder wat’s wrong wif mi? lack of sleep? but usually i get nausea as well & i’m eating alrite tdy…totally weird.

Cambodia trip & Maplestory

checking out the hotels in cambodia now. tink we should get the tickets asap & settle our lodging too. the ‘nice’ hotels online are actualli not veri exp. abt USD40 for twin sharing. tink tat’s quite reasonable. duno where to find cheaper lodging. tink we need to do more research.

i realli should go to bed now but i feeling super awake at tis hr. sigh….i tink i should go get some nite shift job…dun waste my energy.

juz found out ah mun plays Maplestory too. looks like i should check it out too. dun tink i haf much time for it though….i dun even haf time for neopets nowadays.

ok, time for bed. if it’s wkday, my alarm oredi go off at 6.30am….tomolo’s the first day of skool….beli stressed…hope yeow can wake up in time….he like cockroach…sleeps late & wakes up late…sigh…like mother like son, mayb it’s in his genes??

mi been breaking my wake up early for work habit…muz haf determination to keep it up so i can take MRT & work on my crochet project….juz had a good idea for crochet gifts, will start work on tat on tue.

finally saw the article in Cleo tat featured an interview wif LJ abt facials….the picture don’t do her enuff justice but still, she’s on a full page.

yea! i love celebrating our sexuality. wat’s wrong wif us going to spa, facials & mani & pedi?

there’re no ugly women, juz lazy women! how true!

and grooming dun juz stop wif ur personal appearances. it extends to ur way of life too.

i’ll be the first to admit i’m not very particular abt having a squeaky clean environment but i like my things & surroundings neat & reasonably clean. the house cleaning actualli made mi feel quite good. it was such a relief to haf cleaned the house properly. i hate dust & am quite allergic to it. i get runny & itchy nose from dust.

side track a little, i was pleasantly surprised when LJ commented tat my car looks so much cleaner now. and ah mun asked if i juz treated the leather. looks like my hard work at applying leathercare & armourall has paid off. i feel so much better driving a clean car too! tink i’ll get turtle wax & wax the whole car soon. and treat the windscreen wif rainex. hoo says onli guys noe how to take good care of cars?

after my own experience, i would rather guys take meticulous care of cars den not. coz u can tell the character of the person by the way he takes care of his things & cars are big ticket items. if a guy don’t even bother to take care of his car, tat goes to show how lazy & bochap he can be….certainly a turn-off to mi from now on.

and yesh, back to the subject of personal grooming & maintenance, both gers & bois should take note of their appearances. i dun mean being a vainpot ( like mi, hehe ) but basic care & thot should be applied to dressing & grooming eg. wearing clean & neat clothes & combing & shaving.

My YTD

juz back from new yr gathering from ah mun’s place.

as we age ( gracefully ), our rate of consumption of food is accelerating. we finished the pizza hut delivery in less den 1/2 an hr and we gobbled up our prata in less den 20 mins too. it was the same when we went for seafood at jumbo. we actualli managed to clear all the dishes before the next dish was served. tis is the first time i’ve seen tat happened.

we spent an enjoyable nite playing MJ & boardgame. tis zombie ( i saw the words mall of terror on the box, mayb tat’s the name of the game? ) game tat SY took to ah mun’s place really brings out the worst in the players. it’s all about survival & killing off one another. luckily i fared quite well in the game thru my alliance with ah boon….hehe….ZC earned a bad reputation for himself by being deceitful…but tat’s supposedly the way the game should be played.

after much gaming, we got hungry & had supper at jln kayu. tiyan got a special version of milo dinosaur wif whipped cream & strawberry sauce…eeks…i dun tink strawberry goes very well wif milo.

I made good progress wif my packing of room yest. gotta keep up my good work tdy & hopefully put away my 2 luggages. haf a bag of clothes tat need a stitch or 2 to make them wearable again so will spend some time on tat as well.

i tink i haf too much clothes tat i hardly wear….tink i should go thru my wardrobe & get rid of some clutter.

Happy 2006 everyone!

I spent the last hour or so doing tons of quizes at blogthings & had fun. tis is a quiet new yr’s eve since we moved our traditional celebration/gathering to the 1st instead.

looking forward to seeing everyone & here’s to a great yr! really excited abt 2006. it’ll certainly be a meaningful & filled yr juz by virtue of everything i haf planned & start doing.

2006 will be the yr i
1. set things rite & get my life in order

2. learn new things. oredi signed up for jap class. going for proj mgmt & possibly computing classes

3. work harder…hope i get more accts & pick up more things at work. can’t wait to be truly up to speed.

4. see more of the world…cambodia, here we come! of course, there’s the sales conference at phuket but i’ve oredi been there. should really make a trip to hk & visit some frens there too.

5. spend more things wif kids. yeowyeow’s last pre pri yr. his colouring has improved dramatically. juz look at his works on the fridge! tink i should start him on more writing & refresh his 唐詩. hope i can manage more outings wif them too but qiqi is so clingy. always going “mummy 抱!”. even refused to walk from carpark tis afternoon. but i didn’t carry her coz i had to carry 6 bottles of prayer oil. tink i’m spoiling her.

6. be more passionate abt my hobby…crochet…juz started my crochet blog on the last day of 2005. posted 1 picture of a pouch i made. hopefully tat’ll encourage mi to clear more WIPs.
i’ve started to make friends wif some fellow crocheters & i tink tat’s great for my morale. always felt tat crocheters are on their own & almost ‘extinct’ in singapore. yesh! and there’s the crochet/knitting group tat’ll start in the office. i finally gathered all my yarn together. WOW! i still haf 2 huge bags full of yarn. muz start working hard on new projects too.
